Mexico Trip (Yuma, AZ)

Our friends Bob & Judy invited us to go down to Yuma, AZ with them for the purpose of crossing in Mexico to buy drugs. Not illegal drugs, but OTC and prescription drugs at a much cheaper price than we can get in the States.

It was about a 3-4hr drive, so we stopped for breakfast at the "Space Age Lodge" in Gila Bend, AZ.

Nice little restaurant with an alien theme. Food was good, but they had to cut their water off due to a leak. So that meant their bathrooms were closed. Once we finished our breakfast, we stopped at the nearest gas station(Loves) for a bathroom break. Feeling better, we continued to Yuma, AZ.

When we arrived at our hotel, it was too early to check in, so we headed straight to Los Algodones, Mexico.

We paid $5 to park on the US side and walked over the boarder.

Nice clean streets, and more pharmacies, dentists, and eye doctor offices than you could ever use!

We immediately headed over to "The Purple Store" where we stocked us on needed pharmaceuticals. We then wandered the streets, where the locals tried to entice us to buy mostly purses, belts, wallets, T-shirts, and jewelry. We got away a new belt for Bobby and a pair of sunglasses for Shelly. Having bought what little we needed, we stopped at "Pueblo Viejo" restaurant for lunch. It was good authentic Mexican food enjoyed with friends. Bellies full, we went through Customs (a much better experience than when we came back across from Canada). Wasn't bad, they just looked in our bags and sent us on our way.

On our drive back to Yuma, we decided to do some looking around. We headed over to the Escapees park, to check it out before going to our hotel. No one was in the office but we looked around and seemed very nice. When we are back in Yuma, we will spend a few days here with our Escapee family.

We then headed back to our hotel where we checked in and went to our rooms to rest up a bit before going out to dinner.

After our rest, we set out to drive around Yuma looking for a place to eat. We drove around for about an hour before we settled on Cracker Barrel which was right by our hotel. We had a good dinner and then headed back to the hotel where we played a game of "to eight and back" (cards) with Bob and Judy. Neat game, similar to Spades in some ways.
